Windows gmail notifier not secure

Just a word of warning, i don't know if this is unique to me, or only just started happening recently? But login in to Gmail via the Google Gmail Notifier goes to a HTTP address and not the secure HTTPS.

This has really been bothering me lately. Why doesn't google give at least a setting that lets you choose?

If you are using Firefox, try the "Better Gmail" plugin (http://lifehacker.com/software/gmail/lifehacker-co...).

One of the many cool things it does, is redirect all access to gmail over https.

The only way to set gmail notifier on windows to use https is hacking its exe using a hex editor. wikiHow describes how to do it : http://www.wikihow.com/Hack-Gmail-Notifier-to-Use-...
