Its the end of a 3 day working week for me which saw my 29th birthday on Tuesday (28th), it was a good day made better by my unknown present from my fiance - a Nintendo Wii(I suppose I am now also a wii60 user). All I can say is that the system is brilliant. Lots of fun! I've got the sports pack and a couple of games but what I need to know is, is there any game for the Wii which I "must have"?
As for today's joke it made me chuckle, maybe cause it got me thinking of a Lenny and Bo sketch but then when the I realised what the post subject would read I couldn't resist. Enjoy!
Well it's my Birthday weekend and I'm starting if off by having today off, and not coming back to work until the 29th (my actual birthday is the 28th August. I'm gonna be 29 on Tuesday, so really it's the countdown to 30 from here :o). Enjoy!
A 7-year-old boy and his 4-year-old brother are upstairs in their bedroom. The 7-year-old is explaining that it is high time that the two of them begin swearing. When his little brother responds enthusiastically, the 7 year old says, "When we go down stairs for breakfast this morning, I'll say HELL and you say ASS. The 4-year-old happily agrees.
As the two boys are seating themselves at the breakfast table, their mother walks in and asks her older son what he would like to eat for breakfast. The 7 year old replies, "Ah hell, Mom, I'll just have some Cheerios."
WHACK! The surprised mother reacts quickly. The boy runs upstairs, bawling and rubbing his behind. With a sterner voice, the mother then asks the younger son, "And what would YOU like for breakfast?" "I don't know," the 4 year old blubbers, "but you can bet your ass it's not gonna be Cheerios."
Like most Mac users I've got a few Widgets on my Dashboard which I just can't live without now. The main two are the calculator and stickes.
Whats annoyed me in the past is that sometimes I want need them on the desktop for whatever reason. A quick search led me to the below terminal script that I've now been using for so long I've forgotten that this is not "normal" OS X behavior. The script enables you simple drag any widget from the dashboard and have it right there on your desktop. Then when you are done you can drag it back.
Simple write the following command into the Terminal and hit return, then logout and login again.
I've just came across inviteshare.com which aims at distributing invites for "private betas" for over 46 sites. Included is Joost, Pownce, 8apps, Dopplr and loads more.
The reason I mention this is that I'm probably gonna send all my invites that way so I don't keeps taking up everyones blog space with more "I have x invites for x" posts
I've been slowly getting into Mark Mandel's Transfer recently. The problem is the last time I was testing the ORM was before the CF8 upgrade. So last night as I was playing around I got the following error message"
In the first part of this 2 parter I mentioned the differences between the 2 ColdFusion plugins for Eclipse that are out there. Here I have put them into one zip file for you to download and install, it really couldn't be easier to check out the CF environment "everyone is using"*
Update: After a quick read of the EULA from Adobe, it appears that I was being a little naughty by bundling them together. Hence the quick removal/update of the original post (anyone who got here first was lucky). That doesn't mean that you still can't have a cracking CF dev environment. The zip I produced was files taken from 2 sources: Eclipse 3.3 and the ColdFusion Extensions for Eclipse and the CFEclipse download section of the site.
This post is in two parts as I realised it's probably not good to bombard you with one longgggg post. The second part (which is the reason this post even exists) is about a new zip file that I have put together so you can download CFEclipse and Adobe CF Extensions in one go. This post first off covers the difference between them so you know what you are getting and why you want it;
Incase you don't know the CF Extensions are very different to the CFEclipse plugin for Eclipse but both are essential for your CF development environment.
Another Friday and two jokes this weeks due to a couple of things making me laugh. Also I don't know if there is gonna be a Friday joke next week as its my Birthday the Tuesday after and i'm having a 5 day weekend to celebrate being a year from 30. Enjoy!
A woman was in bed with her lover when she heard her husband opening the front door. "Hurry!" she said, "stand in the corner." She quickly rubbed baby oil all over him and dusted him with talcum powder.
Pinching the idea straight from Nick Tong I have also used Wufoo to create my Contact Me page.
If you haven't seen/used Wufoo the site describes it as

I'm still learning new stuff about CF8 which I'm loving. This one is thanks to Sam Farmer's recent blog entry about Auto Saving Forms (check it out). Right at the end I noticed the following bit of code:
