I've been slowly getting into Mark Mandel's Transfer recently. The problem is the last time I was testing the ORM was before the CF8 upgrade. So last night as I was playing around I got the following error message"
Aaron West has released a new version of his Twitter Air app namely called TwitterAir.
You can download the updated application from his site in the Download sections as well as finding out what has been updated. This release also includes some new features, with one of my favourite being type ahead for @username's!

Well Chritmas is now just 24 days away and with the 1st landing on a Friday what better way to start it of than a xmas joke:
Santa Claus, like all pilots, gets regular visits from the Federal Aviation Administration, and it was shortly before Christmas when the FAA examiner arrived.
I know it seems a little doom and gloom but I really thought that Fireworks would vanish, or be sucked into Photoshop in some mad scientific merging project. The one reason I liked Fireworks so much is the ease of use. When I got into developing web application it was obvious you needed to have some graphic skill and at that point Fireworks 4 was out. So I jumped in and ever-so-easily created gifs and jpgs, then animated gifs, and then banner-ads for then employer, WooHoo! they were good times :o)
With that in mind its good to hear version 9 is coming out, especially as there are no Universial Binaries for the Mac which means that FWMX is pretty clunky and slow even with 2GB of memory. Not only that Adobe are opening the Betas so if you haven't heard already, then get over there and sign-up.
Macromedia's Studio 8 is ready for trial downloads now, after announcing a release date for the end of September.
Prices should cost £699, or £299 for an upgrade. Or as individual products
Alan Musselman has just blogged an DWMX04 easter egg
All you have to do is:
In the Property Inspector, locate the Text Color Input box and type "Dreamweaver". You should see a little DW rune that starts to fly around the screen, but wait!! Move the mouse up and down to move the paddle on the left and hit the run back to the other side.
I was going through some CD's from way back and found a copy of CF 4.5.2. WOW, I gave it a little load just to see the old the screen - Click here to reminisce in 800x553px.
Just to remind you, CF 4.5.2:

The DMXZone.com is asking Will you be upgrading (or buying) Macromedia Studio MX2006 ?.
Two of the possible six answers are
Personally i'm probably going to be asking those above to upgrade straight away. Why? Mainly because the merger isnt going to even happen for about another 8 months, on top of that Adobe aren't gonna just pull/not support these products for another year. Its going to take a little time while they combine software packages etc.
a.k.a Another Adobe and Macromdia post
So its coming to the end of the day in the UK soon (6:15pmish here now) and i realised that for the first time in ages i hadnt fired up FeedDemon all day WOW - last time that happens. So incase you havent heard there's gonna be a huge merger between Macromedia and Adobe - for more info check out the mini site at www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/invrelations/adobeandmacromedia.html. If you are looking for a more personal touch in finding out what this means you NEED to check out Mike Chamber recent blog entry.
Well i could go on about relative links out there but MXNA and Goog have done that well with all the post stating their concerns.
One big concern i have that doesnt seem to of been addressed that well anywere is the community focus. With the likes of of all the MM staff blogs which are an invaluable resource, there participation on mailing lists right down to MXNA? What will come of this?
I just resurected some snippets of mine from November 2003. The snippets are the complete set of Fusedoc tags originally for Homesite 5.5+.
I've now recreated the whole set for CFE
To instal either version just create a new folder called "FuseDoc" in your Snippets folder and unzip to there.
If you don't know where you snippets foler is for CFE then goto: Window » Preference » CFEclipse » Path to Snippets directory
I've never heavily used RegEx find/replaces (which up to this point makes me wonder how?) so I didn't properly take in Adam Howitt's post about Simplifying Form Validation with Eclipse Backreferences first time round. If i did i could of saved myself some time last week...thats another story.
Not only does it show the power of CFE (as well as other editors) but is shows the power of RegEx find and replace.
I though i had mentioned this before but from the look of it I havent. Anyway there is this excellent free tool from http://mm-exporter.joexx.de/ which anyone who uses the Macromedia MX Studio should have in their box of tricks. It allows you to backup, save and restore all important settings and data
from Macromedia Dreamweaver, Contribute, Fireworks and Flash.
MM-Exporter recognizes installed versions of Dreamweaver 3, 4, UD4, MX and MX 2004 under Windows and saves selectively:
Christian Cantrell and Mike Chambers have created Take Away, Macromedia news for your iPod or MP3 player. It reads back using a voice synthesizer which isn't too bad, but personally the pitch is quite low, and the read-back speed is quite slow too. If you could change this to your personal liking i could see this catching on quickly
Ive never been an overly huge fan of fusedocs for Fusebox, mainly for all the coding that goes into them (Hmmmm might be laziness coming through there). So with that in mind i decided to help myself out and create a set of Snippets incorporating the "variables" feature from Homesite+ 5.5, making development of them quicker and even easier.
You can download them at http://www.andyjarrett.co.uk/downloads/FuseDoc-HS.zip, to instal just create a new folder called "FuseDoc" in your Snippets folder and unzip to there.
Have a look and let me know what you think. I haven't put them through a good test yet, but they are doing well so far so any feed back appreciated.
