Mozy, Online backup and restore for free

Im pretty late getting on the scene with online backups but the other day I realised it's something I should do now not later. At the moment I use several methods for backups which are my main 500GB external drive and dvd's for hard copies every now and then. The reason I wanted an online account is to hold some important documents and site data. I just wanted another line of defense incase the worse happened. After a look around I came upon Mozy.com which offers 2GB for free and supports OS X.
Mozy is a simple and safe way to back up all the important stuff on your computer. A copy of your data is stored in a secure, remote location for safekeeping, so that in the event of disaster your data is still retrievable.
Well it's been just under a week and i've finally backed up 1.7GB of data which I think is amazing. It's been working in the background and has never got in the way of my work or play. So far, knock on wood, i've got no complaints about the Mac client either, its just sat in the background and done its job. At any point you can use the client to check the status, restore files, look at the history, and of course configuration. Mozy does offer an unlimited plan for $4.95 a month but at the moment their free service is doing just fine. Another nice feature is the "web restore"; this allows you to go online and "grab" individual files which is another good feature if like me you are on the move. This means you can grab an important document from anywhere you like.All-in-all it's been an easy process and if you haven't started yet the free 2GB offer is a good way to start: Mozy.com
