I'm blogging this in the hope that I can save one other person from looking around, but if IBM iRad give you the error Extended Operation failure: org.eclipse.jst.j2ee.internal.archive.operations.EARComponentExportOpera when exporting an EAR file a restart of the IDE fixed my issue!
