If you travel this is what you need!

I'm in the office for yesterday and today which meant staying at the local hotel, this in turn means that I was stuck with 5 terrestrial channels and BBC News 24.With that Kev helped me out by introducing me to the SlingBox. The Slingbox is a device which streams YOUR TV to any computer over the web. What does this mean? Well from a hotel room or a beach on the other side of the world you could watch your favourite show from your cable/satellite box. The only downside is that who ever is at home is stuck watching what you're watching and vice-versa. Once you load the Sling media player you are presented with a full representation of your remote, so you can you have the same control/options as if you were at home sitting in your favourite chair. If at home you can pause/rewind live TV, schedule a recording, then you can do that through the Sling Meda player.
Slingbox is a compact and elegantly designed, state-of-the-art electronic device that connects to the back of your TV. It redirects, or "placeshifts," the TV signal from your cable box, satellite receiver, or personal video recorder (PVR) to your computer or laptop of choice, no matter your location - so long as you have a high-speed Internet connection. This utterly unique device will transform the way you watch TV. Whether you want to watch your soaps in the shower room, or catch the big game during a conference call, or watch your local news from China, the power is now in your hands.
The box only costs £100 and for £20 you can also purchase a SlingPlayer for your mobile device. If you travel at all I would seriously suggest you look into this. It's definitely going to be my next geek purchase.
